My First Post!
7:06 PM
I’m a new blogger, er bloggette, if you will, and am trying to venture outward into the world of socializing myself on the inter webs. Now, to really introduce myself to you, I will propose a list of items that help all of you to understand all of me, and hopefully, this will help you to want to stop by again and visit!
- I love lists. This had to be number one as I am making a list of items for all of you about what I love. When I write lists, I usually always write a few items on it that have already been done just so I get my butt in gear to keep going. A little bit of mini-motivation if you will. But no, I do not write: “Make a list” next to my bullet points— that’s cheap.
- I’m a teacher. This may make a lot of you fellow bloggers relate to me already. I’m a high school English teacher in Toledo, and absolutely love it. I cannot imagine having any other career. Having high schoolers is positively the best because I can joke around with them and tease them, and they aren’t afraid to give it right back, so that great rapport we develop truly helps them trust me as their teacher. Gosh, do they crack me up sometimes. I should keep a list of the things they say sometimes…
- Self-declared, I am a fashionista. A lover of clothes, jewelry, shoes and of course, boots. Ah, how I love boots! If I had more than a teacher’s budget, I think I would set aside a good chunk of my check for a clothes allotment. Honestly, I would blow a lot of my money away on a sweet pair of boots (like these cognac cuties here), but the need for survival, and the guidance from my money-wise hubby prevent me from doing so.
- As they seem to go hand in hand, I’m quite the fan of fitness and food. While I love to go for a run, play some soccer and volleyball, do a bunch of weight lifting and dive in the pool for a swim, my overpowering affection for food, especially of the sweet and carby variety, keep me balanced I suppose. Of course as a young woman of this 21st century, I have a drive to look incredibly in shape and ripped, but I have a pretty healthy opinion of myself, and I stay in rather good shape. Yes, I have a few problem spots here and there that I am on a constant mission to fix, but who doesn’t? And I would rather have a small bit of jelly on my thighs than to give up bread for my PB&Js. Who ever truly wants to eat peanut butter and jelly on a lettuce wrap? I’ll take toasted whole grain, thanks.
- These seem to be some of the most important items to prioritize, but I will list (within my list, ha!) a few of my favorite things. *cue Julie Andrews* I am in love with sharpie pens, and post-its, and actually signed up for their email alerts so I can get first dibs on their hot new products. Post-it Pens? Hellz yes! Also, I am a big fan of anything from the West Coast, as I was born there and lived there until I was eighteen and moved to the midwest where I now work and reside. Being in the middle isn’t too bad, but I miss the beach! Giraffes, coffee, and anything the color green are often in my life…more like daily. I really enjoy traveling by any method, and wish I could do it more so. It’s on my to-do list :)
This seems to be a splendid start to a new adventure in blogging. I hope to have many visitors, and if you have anything to say, please feel free to comment below, or email me at bookishinboots@gmail.com. I look forward to connecting with all of you! In the meantime, you can connect with me at my Pinterest page or my Instagram.
Stay sweet!
Allison
